There was a time when being gifted in more than one area meant you weren’t focused.
If you were good at corporate work and creative expression, the message was clear: pick one. Stay in your lane. Don’t confuse people.
But these aren’t side interests.
They’re all parts of me.
I’m passionate about Human Resources and leadership. I’m also passionate about music and encouragement. One doesn’t compete with the other — they strengthen each other.
I’m intentional about it. I plan my work and my restoration. I take vacation days — real ones — to step away and sing at events at least three times a year. Not because I have to. Because it fulfills me.
Focus isn’t about shrinking who you are.
Sometimes, focus is honoring all of it...on purpose.
